Tom’s work at SWCTN focuses on ensuring that researchers inside and outside of universities can learn from each other, understand their respective worlds and make their practice the best it can be to create a better future for us all.
Tom has wide-ranging experience including research funding, building productive R&D collaborations, digital cultures, helping researchers and practitioners find their value and explain their value to others, copy editing, building an evidence base to inform strategic direction, and showing the value of arts and humanities research and development.
Tom is particularly interested in the relationship between people, cultures, technology and a better, more equitable future. They are passionate about showing that the great challenges of our age will impact everyone (although not equally), and that to solve those challenges we need a diversity of voices, methods, and viewpoints.
